But as a kid, I didn't relate to most of those stories or see how they connected to my world. Maybe a student gets interested in knots or how knowledge gets passed down. Wonders how pulleys and counterweights work. Wants to know how a hawk can circle without flapping its wings. Starts asking how cities get water, and who keeps it flowing. If the story helps one young person discover an interest in skilled trades, engineering, science, writing, ecology, or even just reading, then it has already done more than I could have hoped for.
