Three's Company -  3 Custom Google Sites Launched This Week We've been working on these Google Sites websites for a while.  Finally received the green light to launch them.  The first two (Sarkis and Diplomat) are redesigns for existing html sites.  They are sister sites, so we linked them together using similar navigation systems and layout grids.  For the ATP site, we worked with their design team to put together visually distinct home page which links to a contact page and a Google Sites micro blog. Sarkis Caterers   Diplomat Banquet Center and Hotel   ATP Marketing Patrick LaJuett manages a website design agency : + LaJuett.com , where he supports clients as a Web technology consultant and search marketing strategy adviser.

Google Sites Launch for International Client http://www.indostek.com Here's a project that came in from Jakarta, Indonesia.  It was a collaborative effort with the customer providing the initial copy, diagrams and photos.  We took the input and built a modified Google Sites template based on the "Simple" theme.   Project Summary: Google Sites CMS hosted in Google Apps Design elements include: Custom background to match customer logo Modified horizontal navigation Two column inner page template Site search Homepage slider Sidebar and footer Collaboration method: Gmail, Google Docs and Google Drive  Turnaround time: 2 weeks One of the most enjoyable things about being a web designer, is being able to work with a geographically diverse client base.  Google Apps enables cloud-based collaboration, which simplifies the web development workflow process.  The future is bright!? DotNetNuke 7.0

Image
DotNetNuke 7.0 Web CMS My very early take on DNN 7 is that it looks SOLID.  The admin UI is updated, with some nice new features. Including: Customizable control panel with bookmarks to common functions Ability to drag & drop module containers (in page edit mode) Auto save built-in to the HTML editor Overall improved performance Mobile device redirection (responsive)   DNN 7.0 Control Panel Things I'd still like to see: Waiting for better URL rewriting -- without installing third party extensions.  Out-of-the-box page names are better than they used to be, but still room for optimization. I'd also like to be able to search and install free extensions without leaving the UI (a la WordPress as an example). Also, the Blog module (V5), is a bit erratic, this needs some fine-tuning to be a viable option.  It's close, but not quite there yet. In Summary When I have a tight deadline and need to turn up a Website A...
