Unit Study for Beneath the Cloudline

I remember being assigned books in school that I was supposed to appreciate, but had no interest in. The "classics" are taught for a reason. I get that now. But as a kid, I didn't relate to most of those stories or see how they connected to my world. When I wrote Beneath the Cloudline , I wanted to create something that could help a young reader take the story one step further. Maybe a student gets interested in knots or how knowledge gets passed down. Wonders how pulleys and counterweights work. Wants to know how a hawk can circle without flapping its wings. Starts asking how cities get water, and who keeps it flowing. If the story helps one young person discover an interest in skilled trades, engineering, science, writing, ecology, or even just reading, then it has already done more than I could have hoped for. My Debut Novel - "Beneath the Cloudline"

Official Book Logo Beneath the Cloudline: United we climb. Divided we fall. After years of fragmented writing sessions, late nights, and lots of coffee, I finally finished my first novel. It's called Beneath the Cloudline . Where It Started Years ago, I dreamed of people climbing ropes and swinging between futuristic towers like acrobats. They maintained the buildings, but they were never allowed inside. That image stuck with me. Two worlds stacked on top of each other, looking at each other through glass. One above the clouds. One below them. Both depended on the other, even if they had forgotten how connected they really were. I didn't know then what the vision would become. I just knew I liked the concept.
